Welcome
I’m Tyler Lloyd, a registered psychologist based in the Northern Rivers. My work is grounded in the belief that psychological distress is not a sign that something is necessarily “wrong” with you, but often a natural response to the challenges, uncertainty, and pressures of being human.
Many of the people who seek therapy with me are thoughtful, capable, and functioning outwardly, yet feel stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by persistent patterns of thinking, self‑criticism, or emotional struggle. Others come at times of transition, loss, or questioning — moments when the familiar ways of coping no longer seem to work.
Therapy here is offered as a space to pause, reflect, and begin relating differently to internal experiences such as thoughts, emotions, and self‑doubt. Rather than aiming to remove discomfort or achieve constant certainty, the focus is on developing greater psychological flexibility — the capacity to remain present, open, and guided by personal values, even when life feels complex or uncomfortable.
How I work
As a registered Psychologist, my approach is evidence‑based, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience. Sessions are not about analysing you or telling you how to live, but about working together to:
notice and step back from unhelpful patterns of thinking
make room for difficult internal experiences without being dominated by them
clarify what matters most to you
support movement toward a life that feels richer, more engaged, and meaningful
I aim to offer therapy that feels both thoughtful and practical — supporting insight, self‑understanding, and meaningful change over time.
A space to be human
Therapy does not require you to have the “right words” or a neatly defined problem. It can begin with uncertainty, confusion, or simply a sense that something isn’t sitting quite right.
My intention is to provide a calm, non‑judgemental space where you can explore what’s arising for you at your own pace, and develop ways of responding to life’s challenges with more kindness, clarity, and intention.
Practical details
I work with adults and adolescents and offer individual and group‑based psychological support. Sessions are available by appointment, with options for standard sessions, extended session and after‑hours times. Further information about fees, referrals, and booking is available via the relevant sections of the site.
